The Acadia Rep is always accepting inquiries for future seasons: Cheryl Willis & Andrew Mayer, Artistic Directors Please keep in mind that we try to complete our casting and hiring in March. From year to year, we have many returning company members. So some years we are looking for only a few people. Below is a listing of those positions that might be open for our 2012 SEASON: PERFORMERSTBA INTERNSInterns are hired for the entire season, and perform a mixture of technical and performance duties. An Intern will work in either the Scene or Costume Shop, have Running Crew duties for the performances and also perform in our CHILDREN'S THEATRE PROGRAM show, which is performed twice a week during the season. There is also some casting in several of our SUBSCRIPTION SERIES shows. The INTERN positions are geared towards college level students who wish to further their training. INTERNS are paid a weekly stipend. TBA TECHNICAL STAFFTBA HOUSINGHousing is provided. We rent two company houses each year for our employees, located in the town of Bar Harbor, 8 miles from the theatre. Each of the two facilities is completely furnished and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and other amenities. (We do ask that Company Members bring their own sheets, blankets and towels.) Personal transportation is not required, but is a plus. This is a pretty rural area, and there is little public transport. The Island Explorer Bus Service runs regularly throughout the Island, but not late at night after performances. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTAll Employees are hired under a contractual agreement. We prefer to hire company members for the entire season. The Acadia Rep works as a "resident company". We strongly believe in the strength of ensemble work.
